Work is progressing on Turton Local History Society’s 50th Anniversary booklet, ‘A Turton Timeline’. It will consist of a summary of locally important dates relevant to the Turton area, and is targeted for publication late 2023 or early 2024; just in time for our 50th year!
Also planned for October 2023 is a presentation running through several dozen of the more interesting early twentieth century postcard photographs taken in the Turton area. Below is one of the First World War army camp established in Edgworth in 1914. This and many others will be shown during the talk during the autumn.
