Books
We deal second hand, vintage and antique books of all types, although have a special interest in North West themed titles, especially historical material relating to the Lancashire textile industry.
As well as a robust catalogue of general books and Lancashire themed titles, we also stock a good selection of antique and vintage children’s annuals dating from the late nineteenth century to around 1980.
You can find a few shelves of our own stock, and those of other dealers, at Howgill’s Bookshop in the Sedbergh Information Centre.
Ephemera
While deep vintage and antique postcards are our most popular sale, we do source and sell all sorts of paper-based material including, maps, guides, brochures, antique invoices and other commercial documents, indentures, old original photographs (e.g. cdvs, cabinet cards, stereoviews), old souvenirs and branded promotional advertisements, newspapers, comics, magazines, cinema and theatre programmes, instruction manuals, price lists, catalogues, old leaflets, and other miscellaneous vintage and antique historical records.
Collectables
Past sales have included vintage and antique coins, badges, medals, thimbles, tokens, small silverware items and pottery, tins, bottles, bookends, photo frames, framed prints, playing card and other card game sets, old board games, sewing machine accessories, tools, doorstops, souvenirs and a variety of other bric-a-brac.
The products seen on Ebay (please scroll down under the above Books, ephemera & collectables menu for the link) represent only a small proportion of our inventory. We also sell on a face to face basis at book fairs in the North West, including our own in Edgworth.
